Dissemination, Outreach, and Knowledge Transfer
During the first half of 2025, the Chair intensified its dissemination efforts to bring research and transfer results closer to society and local actors.
Two thematic seminars have been organised as part of the Chair’s cycle of activities: one on Sustainable Building (January) and another on Energy Communities (May). A third seminar focusing on energy poverty (September) and a fourth dedicated to the presentation of the report on proposals and electric mobility are planned for the second half of the year.
The Chair’s annual conference, entitled ‘Construyendo la Ciudad Sostenible: Innovación Tecnológica y Social’, will be held in November 2025 and will bring together experts, institutions and citizens. This is the most high-profile event for the Chair, established as the benchmark event for showcasing results and strengthening its role in the social and political debate on energy transition.
In the academic field, the team has participated in international conferences such as the Sustainable Development of Energy, Water and Environment Systems (SDEWES) 2025 in Dubrovnik and the Energy & Sustainability Conference 2025 in Crete, presenting papers on sustainable neighbourhoods in Valencia and on the value of storage in energy communities. Within the framework of SDEWES, the Chair organises a special session each year dedicated to urban innovation and sustainability, which usually brings together more than twenty presentations by international experts. This visibility has helped to raise the profile of Valencia among researchers and professionals around the world, consolidating its image as an innovative city and a pilot for European energy transition projects. All of this results in a greater capacity to attract research funds and grants, and underlines the role of the Polytechnic University of Valencia as a strategic ally of the City Council in placing the city at the forefront of climate innovation.
With regard to knowledge transfer, the 2025 Proposals Report will be published with an ISBN after the summer and will include public policy recommendations and technological solutions for urban energy transition.
Overall, the dissemination, outreach and transfer line consolidates the role of the Chair as a reference platform for sharing scientific knowledge, promoting social debate and influencing decision-making towards a climate-neutral Valencia.
