The Urban Energy Transition Chair team has published an article entitled “Methodology for estimating indirect emissions from Scope 3 and mitigation proposals applied in the neighborhood of Benicalap, Valencia (Spain)”, featured in the international journal Journal of Cleaner Production (Elsevier).
The study develops a pioneering methodology to quantify and reduce indirect (Scope 3) emissions at the neighbourhood scale, applying it to the case of Benicalap. Results show the potential of measures in key sectors such as food, fashion, and mobility, which could reduce emissions by 17% by 2035.
This work strengthens the Chair’s commitment to applied research and local climate action, providing replicable tools for other Mediterranean cities.
