The Chair of Urban Energy Transition (CATENERG) at the Universitat Politècnica de València actively participated in SDEWES 2025 in Dubrovnik, contributing research, dialogue and collaboration around urban energy transition.
Highlights from our week:
-
Organisation and leadership of a Special Session, “The Impact of Disruptive Technologies on the Energy Transition for Sustainable Cities”, chaired by Carla Montagud Montalvá and Tomás Gómez-Navarro.
-
Presentation of 8 research works addressing topics such as energy optimisation, advanced modelling, bio-inspired algorithms, EV charging planning and urban decarbonization strategies.
-
Display of 5 posters showcasing applied results on microgrids, demand-side management, PV optimisation and comparative campus consumption analyses.
These activities enabled the exchange of methods and results, strengthened international collaborations, and focused attention on practical, scalable solutions for more resilient, low-carbon cities.
We want to express our gratitude to:
-
Our research team for their professionalism and commitment in representing UPV and Valencia at this international forum.
-
The technical and support staff who ensured smooth logistics and dissemination.
-
Fundación València Clima i Energia and València Innovation Capital for their institutional support, which allows us to continue delivering applied research with real impact.
We return from Dubrovnik energised with new ideas, partnerships and ongoing projects. CATENERG remains committed to producing knowledge and transferring technology to advance a climate-neutral, sustainable Valencia.
